Classic Motorcycles have always been our passion. It all began with stripped down mopeds, tearing across open fields until we fell off, ran out of petrol, or were chased off by the local police. There was something thrilling about outpacing barking dogs and dodging the village bobby. Those early days sharpened our riding instincts: we became experts in mad dog evasion, pothole negotiation, and (mostly) avoiding trees. We must have done something right more often than not, even the police ended up laughing with us. Happy days.
We learned a lot back then, how to ride, how to stay upright, and how to keep a bike running no matter what. We earned a bit of a reputation too, for fast bikes and fast getaways, racing around the streets like the teenagers we were. Eventually, the bobbies stopped laughing and started chasing.
Fast forward more than a few decades, after years spent building careers by day and bikes by night, we decided it was time to put our passion front and centre. In 2010, we founded JAL Motorcycle Restorations Ltd. We specialise in classic motorcycle restoration be they classic road bikes or road racers from the early 1900s through to the 1980s. Although restoration is our main We will also service and repair classic bikes each bike receiving the same high quality expert care and attention. Occasionally, we’ll work on something a little newer, just as long as it’s from the golden era: before 1989 BC (that’s Before Computers).
We work with like minded motorcyclists who appreciate the beauty, soul and stories behind these classic machines. At JAL Motorcycle Restorations, we are passionate about restoring your bike to original specification and condition, building something unique or building a custom motorcycle tailored to your individual style and preferences. Or if patina is your thing we will take a sympathetic approach working carefully to preserve its history.
